Doesn't it always ring true, that once you fix one thing (or in our case, build one thing), another thing tears up? As we sat last night admiring John's God given talent of carpentry. . we didn't even watch tv, just sat there staring at the entertainment center. . . we hear this screeching, horrible noise coming from the other room. "OH NO", I think, "what could that be? " Let's see, before I sat down, I turned the dishwasher on, the washer on and the dryer. PLEASE Lord, tell me it's not one of them. OK, the movie "Facing the Giants" has been on tv a lot lately, and since it's Christmas Break and I've had time, I've watched it probably 4 times this last week. (awesome movie if you haven't seen it!) So, as I get up off the couch, I'm thinking "Praise Him in the Good, Praise Him in the Bad"(from the movie). I repeat this over and over to myself as I go from appliance to appliance. Into the kitchen. . .not the dishwasher. . .whew! Can't imagine life without my dishwasher (yes, I'm spoiled!). . .on to the hallway (all 5 steps), open the doors to my washer and dryer. . the washer's not going. . good sign. . bad news. . it's the dryer! Considering it was after 11:00, John decided he'd worked enough for the day building the e.c. and said he'd deal with it "tomorrow". Fast forward to this morning (Sat.) We pull out the dryer to inspect it further. . hmmm, how do you get into this thing?
Our old one you just popped the back off of it. . but not this high tech baby. So the unscrewing began. . . finally, 15 screws later, you get. . .this!
**remember, "praise Him in the good, praise Him in the bad"**
Final diagnosis, the motor was unbalanced, causing the blades to rub against "something". After 2 hours of beating, banging, plugging it in and unplugging it. . .it works!!!!
I got the lovely job of plugging it back in and adjusting the vent. Wouldn't you know my loving husband would use that as a "kodak moment"! **remember, "praise Him in the good, praise Him in the bad"**
End of story, we only had 2 screws left over. . and my light doesn't come on inside anymore. . .not bad for dryer amateurs. Hey, at least we get to dry our undies in the dryer instead of hanging them outside, which was going to be the case! **remember, "praise Him in the good, praise Him in the bad"**

Fun in the Snow!
We woke up Wednesday morning to a blanket of white snow. The fun was about to begin. John, Dillon, Faith, Lynn and Steven headed to the hill with sleds in tow. I even got in on the action a little while Audra was counting sheep in her head :-) We are hoping to get to go out again tomorrow, since it hasn't stopped snowing all day!

Happy New Years!!!!

We spent New Years Eve with our great friends, the Robinson's, in Blackey. It was a great time for the kiddo's to play together and for the adults to solve the world's problems (there were a lot left unsolved for all those needing something to do :-) Gunner was a little under the weather Monday night, but was ready to go Tuesday morning. We count ourselves blessed to have such wonderful friends! Love you guys! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Sometimes AIM is over-rated

Our little baby Audra is growing up. She was laying on the floor playing and spotted the bottle. She found her way to it and knew where it went. . .just had a little trouble figuring out how to get it there. . .if it only didn't leak during the search :-) {you may have to zoom to see it good}
