Remembering 9/11

It seems like only yesterday that our country was so brutally attacked. I can remember being at Red Cross Elementary. . .we had just finished having an assembly. I walked into the office and everyone was discussing the developments. I was amazed at the pictures on the TV. Tears filled my eyes as I saw the destruction unfold before me. I don't believe any of us realized the impact that day would have on each of us as individuals or as a country. We pulled together, truly united as one nation under God. I am very thankful to all of the military men and women who have put their lives on the line to protect mine. They are in our prayers daily!
On Tuesday night, the local fire depts. hosted a 9/11 service at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC). The scouts were invited to lead the audience in the pledge to the American flag. There were many in attendance and it was an awesome service.

NIGHTTIME VISITOR--NOT WELCOME!

This 28" copperhead was right beside our back step tonight. Lynn, Angie and Steven came up to eat supper with us tonight. After they left, Steven came back up to get Angie's purse. When he opened the door, he jumped back and said there was a snake. We thought he was trying to play a trick on us, but indeed, it was a snake! He shined the light and John used the trusty grubbing hoe to kill it. The Wagoner's found a smaller one in their house a few weeks ago. We are told that snakes travel in pairs, so hopefully this is the "other one" and there are NO MORE!!!!
