John's first Eastern KY bird

John's first official spring turkey season in Eastern KY. finally got underway last Saturday. After much anticipation and preparation for "the big day", he was met opening morning with cold temperatures, rain, and 17mph winds. This same weather stuck around for the first 4 days of season. Finally, after days of agony, the sun popped out, the temperature warmed up, and the winds calmed. He and his good friend Blaine went out this morning and the good Lord was looking down upon them, or at least one of them :-) John brought home a nice "gobbler", not sure what Blaine brought home. . . maybe crow :-)

More Flood Pictures

The following pictures are of our mission team housing that teams have been working on. The water got up about 6" on the foundation. The other pic. is out on Hwy. 80.

McDowell Flood

Our first official flood since being in McDowell is under way. After a full day of rain yesterday, the creeks and rivers are overflowing today. Not only is the water up, but the trash is up as well, and with that, our bridge has been moved. As you can see in the pics. it moved about 3 feet, and buckling the asphalt, making it too dangerous to go across w/ a vehicle. The water is receding at this time, but cleanup will take days or weeks. Please be in prayer for the clients in the area as they deal with the destruction, and pray for us as we seek to minister to them.
